Where your storage lives
Two pillars: encrypted blobs pinned off-site to IPFS, and the data we derive & keep on our own servers.
Pinata & IPFS — off-server storage
Your VCFs are AES-256 encrypted in the browser, then pinned to IPFS through Pinata. We only ever relay ciphertext — the plaintext genome never touches our disks.
Shared Pinata account
All Geneticker users share one Pinata account. This is the account-wide footprint and your slice of it.
Our servers — Postgres footprint
Everything we derive from your files and keep in our database. Sizes are estimated from each table's real on-disk heap & index size, proportioned by your share of rows.
